Consecrated on July 2, 1636. It was built as an emergency church and later expanded to include the Herrenstuhl (1737) and the sacristy (1962). The church was named in 1940 to commemorate the 200th birthday of the poet Matthias Claudius, who was born in Reinfeld and baptized in this church. The Matthias Claudius Church in Reinfeld is home to the local Protestant parish. It was built in the 17th century as the successor to a medieval monastery church. The church was named in 1940 after the well-known German poet Matthias Claudius, who was born here in Reinfeld and was the son of the pastor.

The Evangelical Church of Zarpen is a brick Gothic church in Zarpen, begun in 1221, which was built in the 13th century as the parish church of this early medieval main town and for the surrounding villages of the former Reinfeld Monastery in what is now the Nordstormarn district.
