According to Roman law at the time, such a sentence was a “privilege” (quick death and not associated with a long, painful agony like other types of execution) that the citizens of Rome were entitled to.

The Romanesque church of Comps is a former Benedictine priory of the Abbey of Savigny. It is the subject of a classification as historical monuments. At an altitude of 400 m, Dieulefit is a tourist and climatic resort which owes its hours of glory to the pottery closely linked to the region.
