Once you have passed the trees, follow the track for about 500 metres and you will see a sign indicating the direction of Lamanere (a path leading to the track). I recommend going down there as the Hermitage path is in very poor condition due to branches and stones.

Located in a mountainous area and hidden by these trees and the undergrowth, it is a simple construction, like many rural hermitages in the Pyrenees, it was used for the devotion of the locals who worked or lived in the area. Recently restored

It is Romanesque in style, characterized by its stone construction and its single semicircular arch, typical of medieval bridges designed to cross small rivers or streams. This bridge is located on the Ribera de la Muga, and its main function was to connect the town with the routes to the border with Spain. Although small, it is a symbol of the historical and rural heritage of the region. Apart from its architectural value, the bridge is part of a network of paths frequented by hikers who travel through the beautiful landscapes of the Pyrenees.

Not to be missed, Lamanère is the southernmost village in mainland France, situated in the Pyrénées-Orientales, close to the border with Spain. With a population of around 40 inhabitants and located at an altitude of 775 metres, it is surrounded by mountains, forests and the Tech river. It is an ideal place for hiking and tranquillity, with an economy based on rural activities. It attracts those looking for a remote and authentic destination in the heart of the Pyrenees.

Nice little hike, be well-shod, relatively shaded path, possible to take the path in both directions
