6月 16, 2025, Château de Vic-sur-Aisne
In the heart of the village of Vic-sur-Aisne, surrounded by a leafy park and overlooking the Aisne valley, lies the imposing Château de Vic-sur-Aisne. What today appears to be an elegant country house, bears in its walls the traces of a turbulent past. Originally built on the foundations of a medieval castrum, the estate grew in the 17th century into a stately castle, with symmetrical facades, round towers and an impressive thirteen-metre high keep — a remnant from the 13th century. The architecture reflects the transition from defensive structure to residential comfort: robust, but refined. The gardens, partly in French style with straight lines and box hedges, partly in English landscape style with winding paths and romantic corners, invite you to stroll and contemplate.

6月 10, 2025, Monument de la Croix-Brisée
Built in 1929 by the Marquis de Croix, owner of the land, this monument symbolises the suffering of all the soldiers who fought on the Confrécourt plateau during the First World War. The monument is in the shape of a broken cross, reminiscent of the many postcards showing crucifixes or Christs who miraculously survived the bombardments of the war. The monument is located near a stone marker that marks the furthest advance of the German troops during their offensives in 1918. You can also see the new Confrécourt farm, rebuilt after the war on the site where the French front lines were located.

10月 21, 2023, Ruine du prieuré de Ste Croix
This former monastery was dedicated to the Holy Cross (Latin “Santa Croce”). The patronage refers to the cross on which Jesus Christ died. The veneration of the Holy Cross goes back to a large extent to Saint Helena, who was the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great (who recognized Christianity as a religion after his victory at the “Milvian Bridge” in front of Rome and in the year 312 for a long time the persecution ended with the “tolerance edict” of Milan). In the early fourth century she undertook a pilgrimage to the Holy Land (Israel / Palestine) and from there brought numerous relics with her to Europe, including the "True Cross" on which Jesus Christ was crucified. Helena is therefore often depicted with a cross as an attribute. The church celebrates the festival of the discovery, public presentation and veneration of the Holy Cross – called “Exaltation of the Cross” – on September 14th.

The caves at the bottom of Guesot in Fontenoy are part of a natural site which includes the slopes of Port-Fontenoy and the Ru de Vaux valley. The caves are home to rare bats that hibernate there in winter, and also contain prehistoric carvings on the walls. The caves are not open to the public, so you will need to obtain special permission from the Conservatory of Natural Sites of Picardy before you can visit them. On the other hand, you can admire them from the outside while running.

9月 26, 2023, Carrières de Confrécourt
If you want to discover the history and art of the First World War, you can visit the Carrières de Confrécourt, a set of underground quarries that served as a refuge for French soldiers. There you can admire the sculptures and frescoes they carved on the walls, expressing their hopes, fears and memories. You will also be able to see the ruins of the monastic farm of Confrécourt, dating from the 12th century, where violent battles took place. The quarries are open for guided tours on the first Sunday of each month, from April to September, and you must book in advance.

Impressive and important memorial commemorating the Great War, it symbolizes Mount Calvary and pays tribute to the soldiers who died on the plateau of Confrécourt and its surroundings. The Calvary Cross was shattered by several shells that fell while still standing. Easily accessible and accessible to all, lost in the middle of all these battlefields. A place full of history, peace, tranquility and contemplation.

Isolated on the edge of the park of the Château d'Offémont, the ruins of the former Sainte-Croix priory seem doomed to inexorable deterioration. The priory was founded in 1331 by Jean 1er de Nesle to keep a fragment of the True Cross there. Four Célestins from the abbey of Saint-Pierre-en-Chastres, in the forest of Compiègne, had been called for the occasion. The priory had been richly endowed by the lords of Offémont, who reserved their burial there. The Duke of Orléans founded a chapel there in 1403 and the priory also benefited, at that time, from the liberalities of Gérard d'Arthies, archbishop of Besançon, lord of Moyencourt. The priory disappeared in 1779.
