The city center, or Nutřkowne město in Upper Sorbian, is a district of Bautzen, consisting of the historic old town and the city center. It is the historical nucleus of the city and the center of urban commerce and cultural life, and has a population of over 5,000. Large parts of it are protected as cultural monuments. The Reichjen Tower

The Reichenturm (sorb. Bohata wěža) in the city of Bautzen is located on the eastern edge of the old town. It marks the end of Reichenstraße and is located on the Kornmarkt, opposite the Church of Our Lady. The tower belonged in the 14th/15th Century for the inner city fortifications. The upper part, a striking baroque attachment, was added later (1715-18). With its 1.44m overhang, it is also the most leaning tower north of the Alps that you can climb. For comparison, the leaning tower of Pisa was an insane 4.5 m. That is why it is also commonly called the "leaning tower".
