A finely bitter beer from Krostitz. You can purchase beautiful items in the shop.

As the name suggests, the Krostitzer brewery is based in Krostitz. Their beer brand is known as Ur-Krostitzer. The hallmark is the portrait of the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf, who is said to have passed the village of Krostitz on his way to Leipzig in 1632 during the Thirty Years' War. According to legend, he had a refreshment drink brought to him by the local brewmaster. The king is said to have given the master brewer a golden ring as a thank you.

Unfortunately, there is no bar at the brewery. But the porter gave us a stamp for our hiking booklet.

Nicely renovated medium-sized brewery. What is still missing would be a proper beer garden. That should actually work so close to Leipzig.

After resting in Krostitz, Gustav ll Adolf won the Battle of Breitenfeld. Of course, it was the good beer. 🍻
