This monument was erected in 1879 in honor of Wilhelm Albrecht. The landscape of the Renneroder plateau was quite bare for centuries. Meadows and pastures dominated. That only changed in the early 19th century when the former government councilor Dr. Wilhelm Albrecht. Born in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Albrecht studied agriculture and forestry and in 1817 accepted the offer of the government of the Duchy of Nassau to found an agricultural institute in Idstein im Taunus. Wilhelm Albrecht quickly recognized that one of the reasons for the low harvest yields in the Westerwald was the wind, which swept over the then bare plateaus and carried away the crust. To protect the arable land from the wind, he had the so-called protective hedges (strips of spruce plantations) laid out, which today characterize the landscape of the Renneroder plateau.

Currently, April 24th, 2020, the railway line is likely to be reactivated from Rennerod via Fehl-Ritzhausen to Höhn. Corresponding work on the route can be determined and the new road from Höhn down to Großseifen (the K 56 is still called Grubenstrasse at the entrance or exit of Höhn), which leads over this former railway line, has newly embedded rail parts at today's level crossing . Something's going on there.
