Beautiful lake in a former kaolin mine. The striking color comes from the layers of earth and rock, the water itself is clean and of good quality. A great place to take a break and a real highlight. Unfortunately, it's a double one.

The Salitos Lake near Alpenrod. Also known colloquially as the Böhmsfeld mine. Clay was mined here. The greenish, milky color is from the mining at that time. Many water lilies in red and white show that the lake is healthy despite the unusual water color.

The water color is very interesting and you should just see it once.

Due to the clay mining in the pit next door, there is a lot of suspended matter in the small lake and it almost looks like a milk lake.
