No precise dates are available for the Martinsfund mine itself regarding its opening, transport routes, or exact closure. The slate was typically transported via tunnel systems and railways or horse-drawn tracks for further processing. Overall, large-scale mining in the region ended when prices fell.

Unfortunately there is no information about the Elzer Troppchen... Water flows out of a pipe, there is a sign along the way. The water point is about 20 mtr. below - with steps - dead end. It's best to leave your bike at the top and walk down.
