We didn't see any benches either. However, we did see old ivy and were told that only old ivy flowers, and that these flowers then attract the ivy bee! Interesting!

During our visit, the (sawn-off) part of the tree bearing the "Schanze 1" sign was lying on the ground by the path. We had to muddle through the spruce trees until we finally found it at the back on the left.

Here in Rheinhessen, there are plenty of these long tables with benches, they are called "tables of wine". Come and have a look, most of our Hiwweltouren have them; but you can also find them in the middle of the vineyards!
