It is cold but nice to drive through

Hausen Tunnel! A little spooky, but still cool to roll through.

The tunnel was part of the Maifeld Railway, a branch line of the Eifelquerbahn (Eifel Cross Railway), which was closed in the 1980s. Today, the tunnel is integrated into the Maifeld Cycle Path, which runs along former railway lines in the Maifeld region. The tunnel is paved and illuminated, making it attractive for both cyclists and hikers.

The 2 km long Kottenheimer Wichtelweg is a lovely pre-Christmas destination. All kinds of people and groups from the area have made gnome houses and gnome crafts that you can visit at around 50 stations. The Wichtelweg is open daily and around the clock from November 17, 2024 to January 8, 2025, as it is located on public hiking trails in the "Kottenheimer Winfeld".

Shelter, important when it rains. For sunny days: 2 large benches outside invite you to take a rest.

What do the photos have to do with the title of the highlight? I can't see the "Nettehöfe" anywhere...
