"The building was built in 1907 in the Art Nouveau style as a schoolhouse. It housed the elementary school as a Christian simultaneous school. 8 grades were taught in 2 rooms. After the incorporation of Hertlingshausen into Carlsberg in 1969, the school became part of the Carlsberg elementary school in 1970. [...] Until the school closed in 1985, 2 elementary school classes were still taught here. After partial reconstruction, it has been used as a community center since 1988."
