Beautiful view of the fish market with the Volkerbrunnen fountain and the former Renaissance town hall (1586) with the striking staircase tower. In it is a glockenspiel with the figure of Volker, who according to legend dies in battle alongside Hagen. Next to it, the Rossmarkt, is the "hub" of Alzey and is therefore also the vital, pulsating heart of the city. The lavishly proportioned horse ("Max") of the minstrel and knight Volker von Alzey standing at the watering trough invites children in particular to jump into the saddle and have their picture taken.
