The Bujaruelo Pass is a mountain pass in the Pyrenees, located in the Bujaruelo Valley, between Spain and France, and is an important historical crossing between the two countries. It lies at an altitude of 2,273 meters. It has been a communication route since Roman and medieval times, used by Romans, pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, shepherds, and merchants.

In the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, from this refuge you can admire the magnificent view of the Gavarnie stream, the Ossoue glacier, and the Vignemale. The Espuguettes refuge, located at an altitude of 2,027 meters, on the heights of Gavarnie, a few hundred meters from the summit of Pimené and the Hourquette d'Alans (towards the Cirque du Estaubé), offers one of the most beautiful views of the Gavarnie Cirque and the Brèche de Roland. It takes about two hours on foot from the village of Gavarnie to reach the refuge and find yourself in the heart of this cultural and scenic site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Viñamala Peak (French: Vignemale; Aragonese: Comachibosa) is located in the Pyrenees, between the province of Huesca (Spain) and the department of Hautes-Pyrénées (France). On the Spanish side (Bujaruelo Valley), it forms part of the peripheral zone of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, while on the French side it is within the Pyrenees National Park. It is the highest peak in the French Pyrenees (3,299 m) and the mountain range to which it belongs.
