Faults in the terrain formed by so-called dead ice. Dead ice refers to ice masses from a glacier that are no longer connected to the glacier itself and that, through movement, cut furrows through the landscape.

At first, I didn't even notice I was crossing a bridge. Only upon closer inspection did I realize that the apparent path was actually a very wide wooden bridge. On one side, the bridge appears to extend directly into the ground.

This small bench is somewhat hidden behind a hill. It's clearly visible from the south, but not from the north. Those who want to avoid the more frequented rest areas further south will find a nice place to take a break here.

These days, they're more commonly found in more frequented reserves or hiking trails. Unfortunately, I don't currently know if you can look up the numbers anywhere. It would certainly be interesting.

Interesting information panel about the so-called dead ice. Old ice layers from former glaciers are responsible for the current faults in large parts of Småland. The abrasion of these massive ice masses often cut long furrows into the terrain. The term "dead ice" comes from the fact that this ice was no longer connected to the glacier and was therefore considered dead.

On the same promontory where the northern section has benches, there's also one in the southern section. This one isn't as easy to spot from the path. The area there is smaller, but somewhat more secluded and therefore quieter.

If you walk south from the floating dock, after about 100 meters you'll reach a promontory that juts out into the lake to the east. Upon entering, you'll find several benches with a fantastic view of Lake Illern.

On the left side of the floating dock are very tall reeds. Ducks often stay there. During my visit, I even saw a family of ducks with a total of eight young.
