A lovely hike with a fair amount of elevation gain. The paths are a combination of tree roots and rocks. There are a few short (slippery) scree slopes with ropes to guide you. At the top, near the hide, it takes a bit of finding your way. Komoot describes this hike as easy with well-maintained paths, but we see it differently. You'll need to pay close attention to your footing regularly.

The hike is very beautiful, and at times challenging. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended. As inexperienced hikers, it took us 4 hours.

Tingvalla Church in Karlstad is the oldest church in the city and has a long history. The church was originally built in the Middle Ages and its name "Tingvalla" comes from the old meeting place ("ting") that was located there. However, the church has been rebuilt and expanded several times over the centuries, mainly due to destruction from fires that have plagued Karlstad. Today, Tingvalla Church stands as a striking witness to Karlstad's medieval history, although in its current form it is mainly from later periods. It has a plain façade, typical of Scandinavian churches, and the interior is also rather plain, but it has a calm, spiritual atmosphere. The church continues to serve as a place for worship and events and has important historical and cultural value for the local community. If you are visiting Karlstad and are interested in the history of the city, you should visit the church.

The cable ferry must first be pulled onto the shore (if it is not already there). Then we move to the other bank using muscle power, always pulling the rope firmly. Nice little adventure and keeps you fit!
