A lovely hike with a fair amount of elevation gain. The paths are a combination of tree roots and rocks. There are a few short (slippery) scree slopes with ropes to guide you. At the top, near the hide, it takes a bit of finding your way. Komoot describes this hike as easy with well-maintained paths, but we see it differently. You'll need to pay close attention to your footing regularly.

Very close to Läckö Castle is Spiken, an idyllic fishing port. Spiken is Northern Europe's largest inland fishing port and a popular day trip destination from Västergötland. Many tourists come to Spiken to drink coffee, have a picnic, enjoy the view of Lake Vänern, buy fish or take a trip on the M/S Gabriel tour boat.

The baroque castle of Läckö has a very special reputation in Sweden. Like a fairytale castle, it stands directly on the shore of Lake Vänern and attracts thousands of visitors to concerts and exhibitions in summer. In 2001 it was voted Sweden's most beautiful castle.

On warm summer days, the small beach invites you to swim, but be careful, Lake Vänern is also very refreshing in summer.

A beautiful little hiking area and nature reserve. Fantastic paths, many islands, great views. Large parking lot with toilet and bench. Overnight stays with the mobile home are not permitted!
