The Grenzhus and the Mechower See have numerous information boards about the inner-German border. Unfortunately, I had the impression that the outside area is not in such good condition.

Unfortunately currently (March 2022) closed and being converted into a self-service café. Worth seeing in Schlagsdorf, in addition to the former inner-German border, is the wonderful church and the 500-year-old court lime tree in front of it.

The Grenzhus Schlagsdorf tells the story of the inner-German border between the Baltic Sea and the Elbe from 1945 to 1990 from the perspective of the people in the border area. How did the people on both sides live, how did they react to the constraints of the GDR border regime and the Cold War? The historical learning center is divided into a museum, outdoor area with reconstructed barriers and the "Grenzwege Schlagsdorf" border course.
