Interesting mill - currently without wings

A nice campsite. But: the lake has lost about 2 meters of water. The beach, however, isn't so bad. There's pleasant sand for swimming.

Here you'll find the dry bed of what was once the connection between the two lakes. It's a rather sad and cautionary sight.

It's a shame the mill isn't being given wings, as it would have been a popular attraction and a magnet for tourists.

Great base for exploring the surrounding area by land or water. Nice shady pitches for all types of accommodation. It seems pretty perfect to me.

From mid-summer onwards it is often very overgrown, covered in nettles and blackberries. Nevertheless, the trail run is worth it if you are a bit tough 😉

In 1892, the Carwitz Mill replaced the Schmidt Mill, which had previously burned down. The imposing building lost its wings in 1937. Since then, it was initially powered by a steam engine, which was eventually replaced by an electric motor. In use as a mixed feed mill since 1960, the granaries built in 1972 were demolished as part of the renovation work. One of the most striking restorations of the mill, which was closed in 1990, is the new cap construction.
