The Esplanade of Mariehamn is an avenue of linden trees that connects the western and eastern harbors, a green oasis in the middle of Mariehamn. In addition to the main church, several wooden houses along the avenue are worth seeing.

Our camping ground is situated among the fortress ruins of Bomarsund. In 1854, the allied French and British armies attacked the Russian troops that had built an enormous fortress here. Now you are welcome to our camping ground establishment at the islands of peace. You can easily access us by car, bus, bicycle or boat. The ride from Mariehamn is about half an hour. The sea is right here and our guest harbour in Notviken has 30 boat places. CAMPING AND CABINS A pretty big, quiet, rather cheap but somewhot worne down camping ground. The camping grounds are laid out across 5 hectares, which makes it suitable also for large groups. A beach sauna and a barbecue place are available. In the area 3 cottages (30 m2) for 4-6 persons are available. These are equipped with shower and a kitchen. You may also choose to stay in one of the overnight cabins. RESTAURANT AND CAFÉ close by Café Furulundsgården is our fully licensed Restaurant. Newly built but in an old fashion and with a large outdoor seat place. When you enjoy a cup of coffee in the café, please try the speciality; Åland pancake. ACTIVITIES Swim and relax at the beach, just 10 meters away. Play minigolf or stroll around the ruins. Bikes and boats can be rented. Ramsholmen is a deciduous forest area. Deciduous forests were a natural part of the Åland landscape until the 18th century. However, changes in agricultural practices contributed to the overgrowth of most deciduous forest areas during the 19th century. Today, this type of cultural landscape is only maintained in a limited number of areas. The deciduous forest is our most species-rich natural type. During the spring and summer months, the floral splendor is intoxicating. Enjoy a landscape full of wood anemones, cowslips, clipped ash trees, hazel groves, and shore meadows, or simply poke your nose into the greenery and identify orchids, lilies, and other rare plants with the help of the field flora. The abundant occurrence of the strongly fragrant, garlicky wild garlic (Swedish: Ramslök) probably gave this area its name. Every year in July, the hay is harvested in a very unique way. The hay from the meadows and the leaves of the ancient, clipped ash trees are harvested as fodder for the animals. Ramsholmen also boasts considerable birdlife. Seabirds, waders, and other species breed here or forage in the diverse landscape. Torpfjärden, east of Ramsholmen, is one of Åland's most beautiful bird areas.

Three well-marked hiking trails of varying lengths with smooth rocks, wooded meadows, and sea views. White Trail: The white trail starts and ends at the same spot and leads around a rocky peak. The terrain is partly barren with low vegetation such as small pines, and in some areas there are more lush trees. At the far end of the peak, you have a scenic view of the sea and the ferry connection between Sweden, Åland, and Finland. You can leave the marked trail and descend to the smooth rocks by the sea. The trail also leads past a smaller bay with rich birdlife. Red and Blue Trails The red and blue trails each have separate routes, each starting from the white trail. You can also choose to follow just one. These trails lead through a wooded meadow where the rich flora is traditionally cultivated. There are densely growing hazelnut trees, and many deciduous trees have been pruned and their crowns trimmed, giving the trees their characteristic appearance. Kastelholm (Swedish: Kastelholms slott, Finnish: Kastelholma) is a medieval castle in Sund, on the Finnish archipelago of Åland. The castle-like castle was built on a small island surrounded by a moat filled with piles. Kastelholm is very important for the history of Åland and is now a tourist attraction. The building, which dates back to the 14th century, is one of the oldest on the island. One wing of the castle houses the Cultural History Museum of the Swedish-speaking Åland Islands.
