✓Continuously inhabited from the 1st to the 11th centuries, this opulent Roman Empire villa was, in the early 4th century, a luxurious manor house. It has thermal baths, olive and wine presses, and agricultural facilities, confirming the lifestyle of a family of high social and political status. The goal of our walk was to see flamingos. That worked out perfectly. A Portuguese woman who lives nearby told us that in spring, compared to now (October), everything is full of flamingos, including their young.
