✨ Kiel Fjord Trail: The ultimate coastal tour along the Kiel Fjord If you want to experience the true Kiel lifestyle on two wheels or on foot, the Kiel Fjord Trail is the perfect choice! It takes you almost completely around the fjord – always with the Baltic Sea on one side and green coastal landscapes on the other.

The Mermaid of Möltenort is a well-known sculpture on Möltenort Beach, serving as inspiration for hiking and cycling routes in the region around Möltenort and Heikendorf. It's a local attraction used as a destination for walks and tours. However, it's so inconspicuously small that it's easily overlooked.

If you ride your bike too fast you can easily miss this little part.

I've often seen oystercatchers at this highlight. The view of the Kiel Inner Fjord is fantastic 😉.

Förde hiking trail Bicycle Förde hiking trail Heikendorf The Förde hiking trail always runs along the shore of the Förde, past idyllic harbors, beautiful viewpoints and fine sandy beaches. Enjoy the immediate proximity to the sea by bike or on foot. In Heikendorf, the trail leads directly past the Jägersberg naval ammunition depot, which means that this section can be temporarily closed during ammunition transports. The alternative route leads via Neuheikendorf and Brodersdorf and means an additional distance of around 5-6 km.
