ウルクのビーチは、灯台と古い町の中心部の近くにあるアイセル湖畔の、小規模で居心地の良いビーチです。ここには大勢の人はいませんが、静けさ、水辺の景色、そしてリラックスした雰囲気があります。子供連れの家族や、堤防沿いの散歩やサイクリングの途中の短い休憩に最適です。浅い水域なので、足だけ浸かったり遊んだりするのに安全です。 ピクニックシートを持参して、船が行き交う景色を眺めながらピクニックを楽しんでください。ビーチの訪問と併せて、隣接する灯台へ向かう小石の小道を散策したり、近くのUrkerbosで涼しい木陰の散歩を楽しんだりできます。夏には、ビーチの近くで小さなイベントやフードトラックがよく開催されています。

Very beautiful lighthouse and quaint little town. Urk only became part of the Dutch mainland when the Noordoostpolder was drained. Nevertheless, the residents still live 'on Urk' and not 'in Urk'. In any case, the small town with its lively harbor is a great stopover on your bike tours.

Centuries ago, our predecessors were clever enough to use the power of the wind for their own purposes, by driving millstones and grinding grain into flour, for example. Often placed in the landscape in dozens, this modern and unaesthetic variant - in the past, people took care to design each individual mill - is used to generate electricity. These wind farms are not without controversy, as they are built without consideration for the landscape, and above all, the slender blades become a death trap for birds.

The 18.5 meter high lighthouse on the dike is located at the westernmost tip of Urk.
