Dokkum's town hall is located on the Zijl, the former sea lock, and was built between 1607 and 1610. It features a beautiful carillon.

Installed as part of the art project "Hidden Past" following the redevelopment of Dokkum's city center. The cast-iron shell-like shape features the contours of the old city walls. The city's coat of arms, with moon and stars, is depicted in the stainless steel countershape. Sunlight shines through the shell's cutout, forming a kind of sundial inside the cast-iron shape.

The Dokkum Town Hall is a town hall in the Dutch city of Dokkum. The town hall has been the town hall of Dongeradeel since 1984. Nowadays, meetings are no longer held in the mayor's and aldermen's chambers. This happens in the adjacent buildings and in Koningstraat.
