Garnwerd is a small village in the province of Groningen. Its narrow streets and brick houses are somewhat reminiscent of England. It has a beautiful marina and a great restaurant with a large terrace.

In the summer 2025 issue of De Volkskrant, Garnwerd, and in particular café-restaurant Bij Hammingh, is praised for its idyllic summer landscape. "The village and its surroundings are wonderful for walking." Bij Hammingh is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM.
