The scenery is simply amazing, the only thing you have to be careful of is the sandy ground when driving there.

Like Quin Ven, Zevenboomsven is located in a hollow in the river dunes. A birdwatching wall offers a birdwatching overview of some of the birds that inhabit the area, and the classic opportunity to peer down into the fen (and the heathland beyond) through recesses in the wall. From the Zevenboomsven car park on the other side of the road, it's just a minute's walk away. A great way to start or end a walk if you're parked here.

I got the tip from a friend. Yesterday I cycled to the trail and rode it. Wow, very nice trail. Well-maintained and clean. Thanks to the community who care for and maintain the trail. I'll be back. Highly recommended.

Here you are standing at a special piece of history and the oldest aviation monument in the Netherlands. In 1871, a French balloon landed here that had risen a little from the then besieged Paris. The balloon was intended to keep in touch with the non-besieged part of France, but was blown in a different direction by an air current. The crew, who also had secret mail and a few bottles of wine on board, decided to land in the safe Netherlands, after which they continued their journey to their original destination as soon as possible to deliver the secret mail. As a reminder of this historic event, this balloon column was unveiled in 1896.
