A beautiful cycle path along the Bovenwijde, with a view of the peaceful lake and the reed beds that adorn the banks. This route leads you to the picturesque Giethoorn and offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the water, nature and the typical Dutch atmosphere along the way. Beautiful nature with a beautiful history

This is a nice walk, so from Zwolle you first walk on a beautiful cycle path along the railway line with lots of nature. You really have the feeling of being completely outside the city. Then you walk via the green golf courses to the Wijthmenerplas, which is especially lovely in spring and autumn. I always walk all the way around it and sometimes when it is quiet I sit on a bench by the water for a while. Wonderful. We often go early in the morning and there are usually deer walking around, it's just a lovely place just outside the hustle and bustle of Zwolle😊

A beautiful nature reserve. The Reest is the border river between Drenthe and Overijssel. Slowly flowing and meandering, the Reest carries its water from Drogter Storage near Dedemsvaart to Meppel. The valley has its own character and cannot really be compared with the other stream valleys in Drenthe. In fact, De Reest strings together estates, heathlands, forests, stream valley grasslands and atmospheric farms, like pearls on a chain.
