A work by British sculptor Barry Flanagan. The sculpture is a humorous reference to Rodin's famous sculpture "The Thinker." There are eight casts of this work, including one in Utrecht, as well as in Dublin and Washington, DC.

The Vismarkt is a street along the Oudegracht canal in the Dutch city of Utrecht. The approximately 100-meter-long street runs from the Stadhuisbrug (City Hall Bridge) to the Maartensbrug (St. Martin's Bridge) on the east side of the canal. Halfway along the Vismarkt, there is now a bridge forming a small square over the waterway: the Kalisbrug (Cali Bridge). There are also several listed buildings, shipyard cellars, and a shipyard.

Very beautiful surroundings, the bike path runs quite directly through it and sometimes has limited visibility. The most beautiful places here can only be reached on foot, which is really worth it.

Cycling is indeed prohibited, and strict enforcement is in place. All of Bornia is a protected nature reserve and is inaccessible to cyclists, with the exception of the mountain bike route.

The village is known for the many estates that wealthy Amsterdammers had built here in the 17th century. First, large quantities of sand were dug up and transported to Amsterdam by barge. This sand was used to build the famous canal belt, among other things. Stately summer residences were then built on the vacant plots. The showpiece is without a doubt the Trombenburgh house, from 1672, which lies like a ship in the water. The client was Cornelis Tromp, the son of naval hero Maarten Harpertsz Tromp. From the terrace on the roof you could see the ships on the Zuiderzee at the time.
