What a strange willow

On a beautiful summer day, this area is teeming with butterflies and dragonflies. The path provides an ideal connection between Willeskop and Montfoort.

A beautiful gate, but also fun to watch the bridge in action. On the other side of the water, opposite the gate, there's a bench. It's nice to wait there for a boat to arrive and enjoy the swing bridge opening and closing.

Oudewater is a characteristic fortified town in the province of Utrecht, located where the Linschoten river meets the Hollandse IJssel, and is known for its charming canals and historic appearance.

Simply a beautiful building in a great location

On February 3, 1943, this bomber was shot down and crashed just outside Montfoort. The bomber was returning from a mission to Hamburg. All 8 crew members were killed and are buried in the cemetery in Montfoort. In the small city museum of Montfoort you can find more information about this tragic event where 8 young people lost their lives.

Interesting point, where two waterways meet with a lock. And a combination of historical city gate and city hall. Only a pity about the large amount of traffic signs at the bridge.
