The Wilhelmina van Pruisenbrug is a drawbridge for pedestrians and cyclists in Hekendorp, spanning the Hollandsche IJssel River. Built in 1992 to replace a ferry, it is named after Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia, who was arrested nearby in 1787. The bridge is electrically operated by a pushbutton and is primarily used during the sailing season. It is part of the historic and touristic Princess Route.

The ferry between Schoonhoven and Gelkenes is a vital connection across the Lek River, dating back to 1429. Two modern ferries, the Stad Schoonhoven and the Zilverstad, operate regularly for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. The Haastrecht Hefbrug is a striking, manually operated drawbridge over the Hollandse IJssel River, built in 1883 to replace a ferry.
