What a beautiful village: Nieuwpoort

The Haastrecht Hefbrug is a striking, manually operated drawbridge over the Hollandse IJssel River, built in 1883 to replace a ferry. It connects the center of Haastrecht with the Stein district and has become a historical and cultural icon. The bridge opens only a few times a day and sometimes causes waiting times for recreational boaters.

The Gouwe Aqueduct is an impressive infrastructure project near Waddinxveen (municipality of South Holland), just west of Gouda. Here, the Gouwe River flows smoothly over the A12 motorway, so that shipping and the motorway no longer cross at the same level.

Boezemmolen No. 6 is a windmill in Haastrecht, in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a round stone mill with a distinctive bell shape. With a span of over thirty meters, it has the longest span in the Netherlands.
