The Salztor Lock in Stade Harbor. Water levels in Stade are regulated by three locks located at the Salztor (Salt Gate), the Old Harbor at the Fish Market, and at the Backeltrog and Schiffertor (Skipper's Gate). This regulation occurs during high and low tide, as well as from rainwater runoff from the Stade Geest hinterland. Without these locks, the old town would suffer from wet feet and flooded cellars. The operating hours of the Salztor Lock in Stade are determined by the tide. The Salztor Lock served as a flushing lock from 1875 to 1925.

The snack bar by the lake is highly recommended and quite interesting 👍. A visit is definitely worthwhile; the menu and drinks are very tasty. The atmosphere is charmingly rough around the edges 😅, and there's plenty of laughter. Two lovely ladies run this snack bar with a great sense of humor 😄. The coffee break area is lovingly decorated. There are many different seating options available, including seats in an adjacent tent. The seats are covered with cozy fur. So, stop by and be surprised 😃👍.

At the snack bar by the lake in Stade, there's a beautiful figure on display that looks quite realistic at first glance. The beer bottle lying next to it probably hints at the reason for the predicament. 🤣

Stade Harbor is located directly behind the Schwedenspeicher warehouse coming from the fish market. There is a parking lot at Stade Harbor. A snack bar with excellent food and drinks is highly recommended. The historic Stade Harbor crane and museum ships are also worth a visit. Boat captains also have their boats moored at the pier. From around Stade Harbor, you have a great view of the surrounding area. A visit is highly recommended. A lovely, charming little place to stay in Stade. Highly recommended.
