The mill pond is part of a beautiful park along the Oste. There are many ducks with special, very dark plumage colors on the pond. The area looks very well maintained. There are also public toilets here, but they were closed when I visited, even though I was there during opening hours.

The area around the mill pond is laid out as a park. Several benches and seating invite you to enjoy the wonderful view.

The exact date of the mill in Sittensen's construction has not yet been determined. What is known is that the Horneburg castle guard Dietrich Schulte acquired it in 1600 through a barter deal with the Verden bishop, Philipp Sigismund.
