The sheepfold was built in 2018 by the Vareler Heide interest group. It serves as shelter for the flock of sheep used to farm the heath.

The mill pond is part of a beautiful park along the Oste. There are many ducks with special, very dark plumage colors on the pond. The area looks very well maintained. There are also public toilets here, but they were closed when I visited, even though I was there during opening hours.

The area around the mill pond is laid out as a park. Several benches and seating invite you to enjoy the wonderful view.
