A mill rebuilt after the war.

The Gallerieholländer windmill is lovingly maintained and cared for by an association. That's why you can admire it today in its original condition from 1881 - although it was badly damaged in the past. During the summer months it is open every Saturday morning and can be visited. The fallow deer, which you can easily observe from the road, offer a nice change on the bike path. Some specimens are quite curious and like to come within a few meters of you.

A beautiful mill, which has already been visited on two of my tours, the first time this was the start of my hike on the Hümmlinger Pilgrimage Trail and the second time on the way back from part of the Megalithic Culture Cycle Route 👍

Nice surprise on the way through Werlte with a herd of deer.

The mill in the town center on the Hümmling is unfortunately docked to a residential building. So not quite to my liking. But the overall ambience is lovingly arranged.

Kreutzmanns Mühle in Werlte is a 1881 built, one-and-a-half-story gallery Dutchman with codend and sail. The family of the same name ran the grain mill until the 1970s. From 1990 to 1994, the mill, which had been repeatedly destroyed over the course of history, was acquired by the town of Werlte and restored in cooperation with the mill association, including a bakery. The mill is now in operation from April to October every Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and can be visited. In addition, visits are possible by appointment (Josef Hensen, Tel.: 05951/2586).
