I only have one tip: watch the ponds armed with peace and quiet and binoculars.

The Nemphetal is off the hiking trails and is a quiet nature reserve. The Canada geese have offspring, so stay calm, take binoculars with you and watch the parents maneuver the small, yellow ball of feathers across the pond.

The Nemphe rises in the northern part of the northern Burgwald, flows west to the so-called Herrenweg, and then flows north through the Burgwald district of Bottendorf. On the southern edge of the town of Frankenberg, the Nemphe receives its largest tributary, the cold water, and then flows into the Eder.

Unfortunately, this is necessary for the timber industry to protect the wood. Due to the dry summer, a lot of spruce wood is currently being felled, which is generally prone to insect infestation.

Nice NSG with healthy flora and fauna. It is important that there are still corners.

There are a total of three ponds on this route. In 2019 I could even spot an otter in the upper pond

Even in winter it is nice to walk along the Nempheteichen

always nice to look at. Especially when in the spring the cotton grass blooms here
