Lovely park by the board, lots to do, including, tennis and children's play park.

Nicolas Everitt Park is a popular public park situated along the shores of Oulton Broad, a large body of water that forms part of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads. Oulton Broad is known for its boating and watersports activities, and Nicolas Everitt Park is an excellent starting point for boaters to explore the surrounding waterways. You can enjoy picnics in the park's open green spaces while overlooking the scenic views of Oulton Broad. There's also a cafe in the middle of the park.

You can extend the walk as long as you want, to make it a complete circle you can use roads but we preferred to retrace our steps

There is limited parking in the station carpark and although there is no public right if way there is a clear well defined path through these beautiful woods which leads onto the Angles way

Worth just going onto the railway platform to look at the swing bridge which takes the railway over the river, even better if it’s in action,check the timetable!

Where Somerleyton lacks in local services it makes it back up in architectural and historical beauty.

From about 1780 Somerleyton bricks were made here until the works closed in 1939. Some notable buildings of Somerleyton brick include York and Liverpool Street railway stations and a Belgian Royal Palace. Evidence of the buildings and kiln, now demolished, and the pits where sand was dug, abound. The 22 cottages at the end of the track were built between 1854 and 1875 for the workers and the staithe was constructed in order to transport the finished bricks via wherries. This kiln dates from 1900.
