Two fab-looking old buildings on the seafront of Aldeburgh, I only walked by and did not stop. Love seeing these types of structure, not one part of them look straight, a DIY'ers nightmare.

Snape Warren, a nature reserve abundant with grassland, heath, and scrub, serves as a vibrant habitat for various bird species, including the elusive nightjar. A grassy footpath leads you through the reserve, where you can enjoy the finest vistas of both the coastline and the neighboring wetlands.

The beautiful walk to Hazelwood Marshes and bird hide managed by Suffolk wildlife Trust is well worth a short detour

Tunstall Forest is a managed woodland with a mixture of coniferous plantations, broadleaved belts and heathland. It's managed by Forestry England.

This building was once a ruined dovecote but has been given a new lease of life as a studio. The old brickwork remains outside while the interior steel shell was slotted into place by a crane.

The Alde-Ore Estuary is a vast river mouth and Site of Special Scientific Interest. It's home to two nature reserves and plenty of habitats ranging from marshes and wetlands to saltings and mudflats. If you're a keen birder, bring your binoculars along because rare species can often be spotted here.

The Sailors' Path is a historic trail linking Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh on the coast. It heads through marshes, woodlands and wide open spaces, and would've been walked by sailors in times gone by. Today, it's simply a stunning trail and is also used by the Suffolk Coast Path.

An idyllic village on the Alde Estuary, Snape is renowned for the nearby Snape Maltings, home to an iconic concert hall and other cultural sites. The village has a few accommodation options and a couple of good pubs. It also has a rich Anglo-Saxon heritage: a 56-foot (17 m) long burial ship was discovered here in 1862.

There are loads of cultural sights to explore at Snape Maltings, one of the Suffolk Coast's most famous landmarks. Its converted Victorian buildings are home to shops, galleries, eateries and a number of performance venues. Snape Maltings Concert Hall was converted from the original great Malt House and today hosts the annual Aldeburgh Festival. Its creation was instigated by a host of passionate music lovers, including composer Benjamin Britten.

Boasting broadleaved belts, coniferous plantations and regions of heathland that connect Tunstall and Blaxhall Common, Tunstall Forest is a lovely place to explore. The Sandlings Walk long-distance trail passes through the forest, featuring the nightjar on its waymarkers. The forest is a particularly good place to spot this emblematic, ground nesting species.
