St. Peter's Island has nature reserves and no bathing island

The island is beautiful. The severe storm, which hit the north side hard, left its mark. Storm damage can be seen everywhere, in the forest and in the "outlying areas."

It's a welcoming place to linger and soak up the atmosphere. There's a campsite near the bridge, and there's a small café there.

Murten Castle dates back to the time of Count Peter II of Savoy (1255). Under the portal from 1516, which was rebuilt several times and in its current form dates from 1755, there was a cistern that is now only marked in the paving. The large, square tower, the so-called keep or "Luegisland", was used by Adrian von Bubenberg to monitor the events during the battle. While the castle was previously the residence of the mayors or was used as a hospital, barracks and prison, it is now the seat of the senior office of the Fribourg lake district. Thanks Kermit for the good description! Here we finally had a bit of sun and a view. On sunny days there is certainly a wonderful view in this beautiful place.

A very beautiful bridge which, according to the plaques, was sponsored by the Rotary Club.

Immediately after the bridge towards Ins there is a shady rest area.

Nice and cool to cycle in the summer.
