At the “Germanic/Roman border” some information boards with very interesting information were set up, great.

Of the largely demolished Marköbel city wall, which in the Middle Ages was surrounded by a 14 m wide and 3 m deep moat with a hedge, the Lower Gate (Gelnhausen Gate) still stands, which served as a prison on the upper floor and has, since 1989, carried a copy of the city coat of arms of the Marköbel court with an executioner's sword.

These two stones show the border between Rome and Germania. It is interesting that the Roman side is made of stone, as civilized, and the Germanic side, made of wood, as barbaric.

It is also interesting for the younger generations to know how the Limes ran.
