The Rathenow Gate Tower is a tower in the city wall of the old town of Brandenburg in Brandenburg an der Havel. It is one of the eight (and now four) remaining gate towers of the two cities of Brandenburg and is part of the medieval fortifications that once comprised ten gates.

At 68.6 meters, the Marienberg is the highest elevation in the area of the city of Brandenburg and was ideally suited for the installation of the optical telegraph No. 7 on the Berlin-Koblenz route. The station was put into operation on March 9, 1833. Since March 31, 2015, the very impressive replica of a full-size signaling system has stood at the highest point in Brandenburg on the top of the Marienberg.
