Five Pits Trail Snowy Walk offers views over williamthorpe ponds

The Chesterfield Golf Club was founded in 1897 and its first members played a course in Somersall Park - just over a mile from the club's current home. The club moved to its present site in 1906 when Somersall Park proved too short. The original Walton course consisted of nine holes, taking in much of the land now occupied by the first six holes together with some which is now a public recreation area. In the late 1920s the club acquired Yew Tree Farm and the course was played much as it is now.

Great for beginners and kids, outdoor gym & activities too.

The Northern Half of the wood has been transformed into the Chesterfield Golf Club, but the Public footpath access remains. The Western side of the wood (Granville's Wood) is Private, used by "The Woodland Burial Company" for tranquil, woodland final resting places.

Nice high-speed drop-off jump (with chicken line) big enough for much fun but not so big as to be dangerous

5 pits trails lovely gravel . As a kid used to spend hours on the Newton ,Tibshelf area , locally known as the humps and hollows . Was what a pristine bmx track would be today. Which was crossing the railway lines from Tibshelf and entering in to Newton.I m not a lover of mobile phones but I wish I could share some pictures of this area .

The second part done at last and puncture free, really enjoyed it ,the banking is faster and the jumps flow better . Come out of part 1 ,follow the 5 pits trail back up the hill and you will see part 2 on the left . Part 2 finishes at the entrance of part 1 . I enjoyed it hope you do to .
