Cork Stone is one of several interesting standing stones on Stanton Moor. It is 5m tall piece of weathered sandstone located above the remnants of a quarry site. At some point hollowed out steps and metal rings were added to allow people (kids and their grownups!) to climb to the top

Along the route - some great wildlife - we saw 6 Meadow Fritillary butterflies and one frog!

This stone circle from the Bronze Age, built thousands of years before the beginning of the Christian era, is neither as large nor nearly as famous as the legendary "Stonehenge" on the plains near Amesbury (which is, after all, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; if you're interested, see =>> https://www.komoot.com/de-de/highlight/960007 ), but this one can be visited without much tourist hustle and bustle, and it also has a much more interesting-sounding name...

Curbar Edge is a popular walking and climbing spot that sits above the village of Curbar and offers some of the best views in the National Park due to its striking rock formations

Froggatt Edge is a lovely gritstone edge with a brilliant trail running along it's top. Below the steep crag ancient woodland fills the upper valley while Big Moor stretches to the east. The views across the valley are stunning with the villages of Froggatt and Curbar below and Longstone Moor rising opposite. If you are walking south, you'll eventually leave Froggatt Edge and join Curbar Edge.

A lovely place to walk with fabulous views.

A very popular place with walkers, and it's easy to see why! The views are great.
