You learn to appreciate gardening here: the park around Mount Stewart House looks slightly overgrown, wonderfully randomly grown and seems somewhat neglected and untidy with subtle art between the unobtrusive flowers and colors. Of course, nothing here is natural and nothing is random, but it is incredibly beautiful to look at.

Rowallane Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens to visit in Northern Ireland, and is often described as a hidden gem. A mix of formal and informal garden spaces are waiting to be explored. Journey through the garden and discover the secret worlds within. Whatever the season there's always something new to see.

Throughout WWI, many bombes were dropped in Belfast, along with land mines placed throughout the city and surrounding areas. While most areas have been refilled since the war, this spot is unique as it still remains how it was as a bomb crater from the war.

WWT Castle Espie is home to the largest collection of ducks, geese and swans in Ireland. Wide open spaces, and wetlands full of the sights and sounds of nature. Surprised by just how much there is to see and do including a Cafe / Gallery, plenty of walks, and places to just sit and take it all in.

Always worth the ascent. If only for the view towards Sliev Croob and the Mournes. Beautiful patch work of swollen hills, cut by colourful fields, that meander all the way to the shore of Strangford Lough below. There are several interesting woodland gravel trails in the woods, connecting to Scrabo, and Ards. Twilight is magic up here. Smooth tarmac Decent down to Ards via Scrabo Road is a joy, with the tower on your left, and the sprawling Lough, and Newtownards to your right.

There is a decent sized network of Woodland Gravel trails in Killynether that connect to the old Quarry Path, and Scrabo Tower.

The magnificent green area is divided into 17 different areas and covers the entire range of horticultural art from strictly formal Italian gardens to landscape parks based on the English model. Very unusual are the many statues showing dinosaurs, mermaids and animals.
