One of the impressive rocks in the Urdonautal and a landmark of the Altmühltal. You can watch climbers on the steep wall. The Schutterquelle is also nearby.

When I wanted to go the tour (blue) it was just too wet. I then only walked the Felsensteig (red) and can say that it was exactly the right decision. Even the Felsensteig is still ambitious enough in some places when the weather is wet. Since I was traveling alone, supporting was not an option, as there is a certain risk of injury.

A hike over the Felsensteig and through the forest also helps to cool off in summer.

The Dohlenfelsen (Dohlen Rock) is widely known as a popular climbing rock. It is located within the Oberlandsteig climbing area near Konstein in the Urdonautal Valley. The rock was exposed on both sides by the Urdonau River and therefore juts out into the valley almost like the prow of a ship.
