Bishops Castle is a beautiully quaint ancient hamlet come market town totally surrounded by the lush South Shropshire Hills. Being close to the Welsh border and not far from either Shrewsbury or Ludlow, it makes for a perfect base to explore this stunning little part of the UK. The Long Mynd is a 7-mile long ridge of the Shropshire Hills, a place of heather-clad moorland and far-reaching views. Its highest point is Pole Bank at 516m.

Number 39 of Simon Warren's original top 100 climbs, The Burway is a must do in the Shropshire Hills. Nearly 2 miles long and avg 9%, you better have a good breakfast before taking this one on! But don' let the stats get you down, it's a stunning road with amazing panoramic views.
