Ludlow castle is one of the finest medieval ruins in England. Set in the glorious bustling market town of Ludlow, the castle has superb views over the Shropshire countryside. If you have time enough have a walk through the Castle grounds and explore the ancient lodgings of kings and queens. You won't find a finer castle to catch a glimpse into the lifestyle of medieval and Tudor society.

Sun Inn is well worth a visit as its one of Englands last parlour pubs. In new ownership with new bar, but the original parlour and bar are still there.

Beautiful spot to camp. Just off the road by the Mortimer Forest car park and right next to Bringewood. You can ride straight out of the campsite and into Bringewood Forest and start your adventure ride without touching tarmac :-) Really friendly hosts and super clean showers and toilet facilities.

Great tap house to stop for a pint or two at the end of a ride. Right next to the train station if you don't fancy riding after!

Although originally made up of ancient royal chases and deer parks, the forest we see today was largely planted by the Forestry Commission in the 1920s. It was named after the Mortimer Family, Norman Lords who held power over the region for some 300 years.

Leintwardine is a pretty village in Herefordshire, on the border with Wales. The village has a rich history that stretches back to Roman times and retains many beautiful buildings. The River Teme flows through the village and is a popular wild swim and paddling spot. The Church of St Mary Magdalene dates to the 12th century and is Grade I-listed. We stopped at The George for food and drink and were thoroughly impressed.

This gorgeous, Grade I-listed bridge connects the village of Ludford to the historic town of Ludlow. Spanning the River Teme, the bridge was the site of a small battle during the War of the Roses in 1459. This bridge was built in the 15th century although has been renovated and repaired several times due to various damage. There are pedestrian refuges built into the sides, perfect for admiring the river from.

The Weir is a very pretty place to take a rest and to enjoy the scenery. East of the weir is Ludlow Castle, although history records that the whole town (and the castle) was called Dinham long before it was called Ludlow; Dinham means 'settlement by the fort'. Ludlow, if you're curious, means 'a place on the hill by the loud waters'.

DO NOT pass this place without stopping in! A great little cafe or there’s picnic benches to sit on and enjoy the freshly baked goodies from the farm shop. A mini ice cream and coffee shack too! Wahooo! Happy days 🤗
