2008年、Sömmersdorfの中心部の野外劇場と聖ヨハネ・バプテスト教区教会の間のPassionsweg沿いに、受難庭園（Passionsgarten）が造られました。ここは、Sömmersdorfの霊的な劇と受難劇の歴史を照らし出す屋外常設展示がある、静寂のゾーンとなっています。特に、1933年に始まったSömmersdorfの受難劇の歴史が取り上げられています。

The Franconian Passion Play has been performed more or less regularly in Sömmersdorf for around 80 years. Since the 1970s they have taken place every five years with currently around 320 players and the last Passion in 2018 attracted 32,000 spectators.
