Only a few sections of the ramparts of the original, early medieval castle complex have been preserved. The centre of the current complex is the Church of the Protection of Mary, whose ridge turret dates back to the 18th century. There are several wayside shrines and small monuments in the area, most of which date from the 17th century. A footpath to Escherndorf leads through the steep vineyard slopes of the surrounding area.
