自然の驚異！6000万年前の火山噴火の後、玄武岩質の溶岩は冷えるにつれて収縮しました。収縮により、垂直な応力亀裂が発生しました。あらゆる方向からの均一な引張力により、亀裂が生じた際にほぼ完璧な六角形が形成されました。約40,000本の玄武岩柱（高さ12mに達するものも！）は、主に六角形です。

The Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre is the gateway to Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a grass-roofed design to blend into the landscape.
